Sports training - Swimming Club Schoelcher 2000

At a time when the Regions of Guadeloupe and Martinique enter a historical process to become associated members of the Organization of Eastern Caribbean States, the Embassy of France to the OECS Member States, in Saint Lucia, takes its part to this regional integration at all the levels, and for the youth within the framework of educational, cultural and sporting exchanges.
This initiative, taken by the leaders of the Swimming Club of Schoelcher in Martinique, is aimed at organizing joint training sessions with their counterparts of one of the three clubs based in Rodney Bay, in Saint Lucia, as an example to bring together the young people to become better acquainted each other at the sporting level, but also at the linguistics and cultural levels, the two islands being paradoxically so close and so distant (“so close but yet so far” as the Saint Lucians would say). It is therefore quite normal that it obtained our support, and that of the Alliance Française, hoping that from now on it will mark the beginning of permanent exchanges between the two islands, following the example of what is developing in the field of education and culture
