Former Prime Minister of Barbados Owen Arthur calls it quit. The announcement was made last Monday on his way to the Parliament where he also made his farewell speech. He previously announced in 2014 of his departure from the Barbados Labour Party which he led for seventeen years. His constituents in the St Peter Parish which he represented for nearly 35 years hail him as one of the greatest leaders the country ever had.

12 containers of relief supplies received from Russia

Close to five months since Hurricane Maria ravaged the nature isle of Dominica and assistance from the outside world continues to pour in. On Wednesday February 14, in a handing-over ceremony, the Russian Federation donated a variety of relief supplies to the Government of Dominica, which included building materials, mobile units, among others. A second shipment of refrigerated containers is expected to arrive on the island soon.

Call of the Patrol Cutter “La Confiance” of the French Navy to Castries – St Lucia

On the occasion of the 39th Independence Anniversary of Saint Lucia, the French Patrol Cutter “La Confiance” will be making its first ever port call to Saint Lucia on Thursday 22nd February. It will be docked at Pointe Seraphine.
