PM to talk with unions and private sector

The Prime Minister has finally decided to meet with the four major union leaders and the private sector executives following the well-attended protest which took place Bridgetown last month over the much controversial National Social Responsibility Levy. The meeting will be held on Friday 11 August. A preliminary meeting was held yesterday to set the draft agenda for the meeting.

St Kitts-Nevis denies knowledge of second Chinese fugitive entering the country

The Prime Minister has come out to deny reports of him knowing of another wanted Chinese national with the Federation’s citizenship and passport entering the country. Reports are the Xianbin Li was the subject of an arrest warrant in his homeland for embezzlement and fraud totalling US20 million. He was also said to have travelled recently to Saint Kitts, where he was questioned on arrival but not detained.

A new collection thrills the art scene in Martinique

Last week, renowned Saint Lucia artist, Llewellyn Xavier marked his 50th anniversary as an artist where an exhibition was held in Martinique under the patronage of Saint Lucia’s Governor General Dame Pearlette Louisy. Martiniquan arts enthusiasts joined a Saint Lucian delegation that travelled especially for the occasion. The celebration continues until 27 September 2017 at the Fondation Clément.
