UK to hold Brexit talks with BVI, others in 2017 13

The United Kingdom (UK) and political leaders of its Overseas Territories (OTs) including the British Virgin Islands have agreed to hold special ministerial talks early 2017 in relation to Brexit negotiations, before Article 50 of the Lisbon Treaty is triggered. The Article would effectively start the process of exiting the European Union, which is commonly being referred to as Brexit.

Shaky period ahead with Trump as President of the USA says Astaphan 13

Dwyer Astaphan, a social activist and former Minister of Government of St Kitts says “We are going through a very shaky period and will be for as long as Trump is around.” He also added that Trump might not fulfill some of the promises he made while on the campaign trail.

Weston admits drop in CIP applications 14

Senator Lennox Weston, Minister of state in the Ministry of Finance has admitted there has been a fall-off of about 10 per cent in applications for the Citizenship by Investment Programme (CIP), but is optimistic that there could be another boom of investors interested in attaining Antiguan and Barbadian citizenship.
