The Political Leader of the United Progressive Party (UPP), Harold Lovell is challenging the Antigua & Barbuda Labour Party on its continued plans to abolish the Personal Income Tax (PIT). The proposal to remove the PIT, which was introduced by the UPP, was a major campaign promise of the ABLP during the 2014 election campaign.
Political analyst Winford James made a recommendation to the government to consider going further than just making it easier for those in the diaspora to come back and vote – but rather allow them to vote from overseas.
The Grenada government has launched a debt exchange offer exchanging its United States (US) and Eastern Caribbean (EC) dollar bonds due in 2025. The current dministration said that the bonds are being exchanged for new US and EC dollar bonds to be issued by Grenada.
