Joint Security Committee between France and Saint Lucia
On 20 July 2017, the Prefect of Martinique, Mr. Franck ROBINE, welcomed the French Ambassador accredited to that country, Mr. Philippe ARDANAZ, and the General Prosecutor of the Court of Appeal of Fort-de-France, Mr. Bernard RABATEL, a delegation from Saint Lucia, led by the Minister of Home Affairs, Justice and National Security, the Honourable Hermangild FRANCIS, accompanied by the Director of Public Prosecutions, Mr. Daarsrean GREENE, the Deputy Chief of Police, Acting Commissioner Milton DESIR and other Heads of Departments, to host the sixth session of the Franco-Saint Lucian Joint Security Committee.
At the opening session, both parties commended the high level of security relations between the two countries, which will be further enhance the entry into force of the two judicial agreements signed at the end of September 2016 (mutual legal assistance and extradition respectively). The meeting also identified ways to improve the effectiveness of police cooperation between the two countries.
The seventh session of this committee will be held in Saint Lucia in 2018.
